Finch powered his way to 172, beating his own world record high score in Twenty20 Internationals.

Aaron Finch of Australia now holds the world's top-two Twenty20 worldwide innings after his 172 onslaught in Harare.

1 - Aaron Finch and D'Arcy Short became the first pair to put on 200 runs for a partnership in T20I cricket. Shane Watson was the first when he scored fifties in three consecutive T20I innings in 2011-2012.

Australia posted 229-2 in their 20 overs.

The hard-hitting right-hander, who surpassed his previous best of 156 against England in 2013, smashed 10 sixes and 16 fours in his blistering innings before his freakish hit-wicket dismissal.

Finch's overall score came off 76 balls and comprised 16 fours and 10 maximums. The 31-year-old just needed 50 balls to bring up his hundred, his second in T20Is.

Finch's previous record knock stood for almost five years: 156 off 63 against England at Southampton in 2013.

LeBron James is leaving Cavs to sign four-year deal with Lakers
But the Warriors obtained Kevin Durant after that loss and Golden State has gone 8-1 against the Cavs in the two NBA Finals since. But while the Cavs and Lakers appear to be the front-runners for James, the Philadelphia 76ers aren't ready to give up the fight.

172 - This is the highest score by any batsman in T20Is.

"I thought he was going to go with a wide slower ball, so I got back", said Finch.

In the process, he registered the highest individual score in T20I cricket, breaking his own record.

Short soon began to find the middle of his own bat, though, and took a brace of sixes off Ryan Burl's legspin to take his strike rate over a run a ball.

"The mood in the camp has always been really positive, and I think coming here we've brought that confidence that we had, but probably with a bit more self belief coming into a new tournament against two sides that we haven't played for quite a while compared to a team that dominated us last summer in Australia and then did so again".

The third match of Australia and Pakistan in Zimbabwe T20I Tri-Series, 2018 is between Australia and Zimbabwe which is scheduled today.
