Players are are lifted to an island where they must battle to the death to remain as the last squad alive. If you want to pick up the game for the first time or gift it to a friend, you'll be able to grab it for just $19.99 (33.33% off the normal price). PUBG is a free-to-play game on Android and iOS mobile devices, so it looks like a large chunk of its playerbase is opting for the smaller screens and on-the-go functionality.

With how much the battle royale game's been talked about in the past, it's not hard to believe the stats shared by the company in a Steam post that detailed the most recent milestone accomplishments.

The offer comes ahead of the launch of a new PUBG map, Sanhok, which will be out on June 22.

A new update is on the way soon for the PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Three men dead, three others wounded in southern Sweden drive-by shooting
Police could not confirm media reports that the shots had been fired from a vehicle and that an automatic weapon had been used. Police have sealed off a main street running through Sweden's third largest city as officers hunt for the shooter.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) celebrated crossing the 400 million player mark yesterday, with 50 million of them arriving from PC and Xbox One.

The PUBG sale is now live, so you can get the game at the discounted price by heading to the game's Steam page and purchasing it there. This is a more compact environment, which should make for tense battles, and a new weapon will be made available in conjunction with the fresh map. Players will have around four weeks to complete each Event Pass and can upgrade from the free version to the premium version at any time to unlock any DLC associated with their earned levels. While the content unlocked will be themed around Sanhok, players will be able to complete the required tasks to unlock the content on any of the game's maps. You'll unlock items by completing missions and "leveling up" your pass, and it sounds like there will be plenty of missions to complete.

The post adds: "If you haven't paid for the pass, you can temporarily unlock numerous items (and earn one special item permanently)".
