"Hopefully the results continue to show".

Williams, the victor of an Open era record 23 Grand Slam titles, had arrived at Roland Garros with just four matches under her belt in 2018. Now ranked in the 400s, Williams faced Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic and won, 7-6 (7), 6-4.

In their return to Grand Slam doubles play Wednesday morning, Venus and Serena Williams defeated Japan's 14-seed Shuko Aoyama and Miyu Kato, coming back the final two sets in commanding 6-4, 6-1 fashion, after dropping the first 4-6.

Serena had the first and only break point of the set but couldn't convert and the set went into tiebreak, which provided the first real drama of the match when Pliskova went 3-0 up. " 'I need to really be on my game serving-wise'". The tennis champ won her first match back on the court in March at Indian Wells but was sent home by her sister, Venus. But she will be ready to fight for it.

"There has to be a very good balance between being aggressive and then being able to defend as well", Barty said of her clay-court tactics. "God, I don't know how many I have had in the past 12 months".

Tennis insiders had previously noted that, in every photograph taken since Williams had started training again, she was wearing tight leggings.

Victoria Azarenka, who is dealing with the WTA as it looks into the issue, says that the news media is making a bigger deal out of it than it should, though.

Klay Thompson sat on the floor in the middle of his teammates and pointed to his "2018 NBA FINALS" hat during a locker-room photo. Kevin Love was shown to be the only other consistent contributor for Cleveland with 17 points and eight rebounds per game.

"Men don't go through the whole physical experience of becoming a parent", Azarenka said.

Nadal grabbed the opening two sets Monday, but trailed, 3-0, in the third when play was suspended because of rain.

"I was wondering if it was in the rules", the Czech said.

"I don't really think so". Two years has been a long time but I trained really hard on the clay. "Yeah, so I think there are definitely some differences, but there is a lot of similarities, as well".

The top seeded Nadal, bidding for an 11th title in Paris and his 17th major, next faces Argentina's Guido Pella for a place in the last 32.

But the tennis champion pointed to the unfortunate timing of the advert, stating: "It's kind of interesting how it all tied into the wedding and, you know, then I felt a little awkward!"

The Grand Slam champion also quipped that the outfit was "Wakanda-inspired", referring to the Marvel film Black Panther, in which numerous characters wear similar bodysuits.
