Unlike normal superhero movies, Avengers Infinity War treads on a different path with (SPOILER ALERT BEGINS) the villains getting the upper hand over the heroes and emerging victorious (SPOILER ENDS).

"We're in uncharted territory again", said comScore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

"Infinity War" is the second Marvel film to garner more than 10 million views in Korea after "Age of Ultron" sold 10,490,000 tickets in 2015.

So as of this article, Avengers: Infinity War has earned for Disney and Marvel $487 million, with its estimated budget of $500-650 million including marketing the film has yet to turn a profit despite earning nearly $1.3 billion globally. The film will expand to 350 theaters next weekend. It's already surpassed its modest mid-teens production budget.

This is quite the payoff for Marvel, as this film was ten years in the making.

People on social media were quick to help and advice him. The Avengers (2012) is now the only comic book adaptation that has come close to breaching the said barrier with $1.5 billion. Both films drew overwhelmingly female audiences, too.

Given the fact that they've been away from White Hart Lane, I think anywhere in the top four should be considered a success. Crystal Palace condemned already-relegated West Brom to last place with a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park.

The Anthony and Joe Russo directorial earned 257.69 million dollars in its opening weekend, breaking the previous record holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens that had opened at 248 million dollars. And rounding out the top five was "A Quiet Place" with $6.4 million.

In sixth place, "Tully", starring Charlize Theron, launched on 1,353 screens with $3.2 million.

Given the events that transpired in Avengers: Infinity War, it makes ideal sense for Disney/Marvel to withhold what's coming next after those titles, but it's looking increasingly likely that Captain Marvel is going to reset their cinematic slate.

Marvel is having an unbelievable year at the box office and it isn't even June yet. The box office will get into the full summer movie season swing when "Deadpool 2" opens next weekend to kick off a constant string of big releases.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at US and Canadian theaters, according to comScore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
