Today turned mostly cloudy and cooler with a few light showers in the area.

A cold front moving through Central Pennsylvania Thursday afternoon will likely trigger strong to severe thunderstorms. The primary threats are damaging winds and hail. Saturday and Mother's Day Sunday will be lovely just like mom! Some showers scoot through for some near and a little after daybreak.

As temperatures warm into the mid 80s in the afternoon, scattered thunderstorms will develop across the western half of North Carolina and move to the east. Some strong wind gusts and hail are a small possibility with any thunderstorms that form. Expect temperatures in the lower to middle 50s. It's a slightly cooler, but seasonable day. Saturday brings partly sunny skies.

Another comfortable night is in store with warm temperatures through the night under mostly clear skies.
