Netanel Cohen does not know Michael Cohen, personal attorney to President Donald Trump, but he does have a brother named Michael Cohen, the recipient of the $980, Netanel Cohen told Haaretz.

Healthcare giant Novartis paid Cohen $1.2 million in a year.

Novartis said it believed Cohen "could advise the company as to how the Trump administration might approach certain USA health-care policy matters, including the Affordable Care Act". After meeting with Cohen in March 2017, Novartis determined the firm was not going to be able to provide the type of USA healthcare policy information it was seeking. Experts say the information Avenatti published could have come from a SAR filed by Cohen's bank to Treasury.

"Why was a Russian billionaire giving a half-a-million dollars to the president's lawyer at the time the lawyer was paying not only Stormy Daniels but, according to Rudy Giuliani, other women to remain silent about their relationships to the president?" We trust that the Southern District of New York's prosecutors and Federal Bureau of Investigation office, with a wealth of material seized from Cohen, will get to the bottom of this.

The timing of the payment to Daniels-less than two weeks before the 2016 election-has come under heavy scrutiny over whether it represented a contribution to Trump's campaign meant to impact the outcome of the election.

President Donald Trump's personal attorney reportedly offered up his $9 million NY apartment as collateral for millions of dollars of debt due to the decline of his taxi medallion business.

The document said Avenatti had seen records showing a subsidiary of the Swiss company made four payments to Cohen's company totalling $400,000.

"Basically the company did not feel that he could provide the access [he claimed]", Althoff said.

The third new division, called Central Product Services , will be overseen by Javier Olivan , now the company's VP of growth. Marcus, the now former executive of Facebook's Messenger group, sits on the board of directors of Coinbase.

Cohen and his attorney, Stephen Ryan, did not respond to requests for comment on the disclosures.

A Novartis spokesman said he was looking into the issue but added that any agreements with Essential were entered into before the arrival of the company's current CEO in February and have expired.

The company said Mr. Cohen was one of several consultants it retained at the start of Mr. Trump's term to help it better understand the president's thinking.

Owens said Columbus Nova was exclusively owned by Americans and that any claim that Vekselberg was involved in providing funding for the payments to Cohen was "patently untrue". He has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

A source told CNBC on Wednesday that AT&T may have paid Cohen up to $600,000, but said it "wasn't to pay for access to the president".

The move spells out further pressures on the embattled lawyer, who paid $130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 after she threatened to go public with claims of an affair with Trump. The arrangement was later disclosed by reporters.

Now, ABC News has learned that special counsel Robert Mueller's team has already had agents question Novartis and several other clients of Cohen's start-up, Essential Consultants, LLC., which he created in October 2016. Trump took office in January 2017 and Novartis signed a one-year contract a month later. KAI is now competing for a lucrative contract from the United States defense department and hopes to produce about 350 trainer jets in partnership with the U.S. contractor Lockheed Martin.
