On Sunday night, the duo played a prominent slot at Atlanta's Shaky Knees Music Festival, and they dropped an unexpected (but glorious) little nugget: There's apparently another Tenacious D movie on the way, and it could be arriving as soon as October. While their set contained a number of their best-known hits, it was a comment from frontman Jack Black that had the crowd talking.

A little over 10 years on from making their cinematic debut, Tenacious D have announced a sequel to 2006's Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

ABC/Randy HolmesA sequel to the Tenacious D's 2006 movie The Pick of Destiny is apparently in the works.

The best band ever PERIOD, Tenacious D, are now in the sixth year of their six-year cycle of a new album release and with the imminent release of Post-Apocalypto some more information is coming out about what the new album will be. It's unclear whether the film will receive a wide release or if it will head straight to DVD and digital.

Sale of Cambodian newspaper sparks fears of crackdown on press freedom
Under government-related projects on the company's website it lists "Cambodia and Hun Sen's entry into the Government seat". Cambodia ranked 142 out of 180 countries on the 2018 World Press Freedom index compiled by Reporters Without Borders.

Now, couple this with the fact that during an interview with Louise Molony on the United Kingdom radio station Kerrang!, Jack Black mentioned casually that the band was working on "a post-apocalyptic musical comedy that's an animated series that no one wanted in Hollywood but we're making it anyway".

You never quite know what you're going to hear when Jack Black and Kyle Gass step onto stage. There's only two rock operas.

While no further information has been revealed about the new film yet, it looks like we might just need to wait until October to see what happens.
