Stay tuned. Who knows?

"If it has already been decided, it appears he [Trump] is trying to create a more dramatic impact", said Park Won-gon, professor of Handong Global University said, "It seems President Trump is dragging it out to maximise interest before making the announcement". The president likes to use such phrases to hype dramatic possibilities, even if some of them might not pan out or fall short of his grand pronouncements.

Last month, Seoul and Pyongyang held a summit at the southern side of the border village, where South and North Korean soldiers stand face-to-face across the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) which has divided the two Koreas since 1953.

"At some point into the future, I would like to save the money" it costs to keep up to 32,000 American troops in South Korea, Trump told reporters on Air Force One.

The US is misleading the public by saying its sanctions are working, KCNA said on Sunday. "I think you will be seeing very, very good things".

"But I was overwhelmed by this huge crowd", he said. Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told Fox News on Thursday they would be released within the day.

Kim and Mr Trump are expected to meet later this month or in early June. It will not be easy for North Korea to just abandon this. Trump hinted that the release of Kim Dong-chul, Kim Hak-song and Tony Kim was in the offing.

North Korea had set its time-zone back by 30 minutes in 2015 in an effort to go back to the time zone used in the peninsula before it was colonised by Japan in 1910.

"The more public you make it and the more you say something is going to happen that has not happened, it creates leverage for no reason", said Jung Pak, a former Central Intelligence Agency official who now works as an Asia analyst for Brookings. DPRK is the acronym for North Korea's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Trump, speaking at an annual gathering of National Rifle Association members in Dallas on Friday, credited his "position of strength" with forcing North Korea to the negotiating table. "'Don't talk! You may make them and him angry!"

On Friday, Trump said that the potential location of a meeting with the North Korean leader had been narrowed down to two or three locations that he didn't specify, adding "hopefully we're going to have great success".

The meeting between the pair comes after the dictator and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed the Panmunjom Declaration on April 27, agreeing to work towards denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula and to usher in a "new era of peace".

USA officials said they had no confirmation from Kim's regime.
