Driver transported after vehicle crashes into Southwest plane at BWI airport

"I can confirm that Southwest Flight 6263 was pulling into the gate at Baltimore Washington International Airport when a ground vehicle came into contact with the aircraft".

The airline is yet to officially respond but told a Twitter user it was "glad to hear everyone made it safely to BWI", adding: "We truly regret any inconvenience tonight".

According to NBC Washington, the Southwest flight had just landed at the Baltimore airport following a flight from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida at 12:46 a.m. local time.

Southwest Airlines also tweeted about the incident in response to a passenger.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
