Apple iPhone X's Face ID technology has got problems

MacRumous grabbed a document that Apple shared with the service outlets, explaining the issue. A Reddit user might have the answer, as he says he went to an Apple Store after certain functions on his iPhone X's camera stopped working and his handset told him that "Face ID is not available, try again later".

According to the Apple official document, Apple stores, and Apple authorized service providers are instructed to run diagnostic on rear camera of iPhone X and check if the system can be repaired to solve the issue. Now, it may sound weird that fixing the rear camera addressed Face ID issues, there have been known cases where users who had issues with their rear cameras also turned up having issues with Face ID. Further, if it fails in this test, the employee has to eventually replace the whole unit with a new device for the consumer.

Some of the affected users have already took to Reddit and Twitter to report the issue. There have been instances where users explained that features like pano, slow-mo, and time-lapse still worked, while others did not. The wide angle did the ones that worked and is connected to the front facing camera. However, if you're among those among the affected iPhone 7 users, you should visit your nearby Apple authorized service center to fix this.

When an iPhone X owner experienced problems with FaceID and the rear camera shortly after launch, they were informed the front-facing True Depth camera and the rear telephoto camera were connected.
