A Fond du Lac man who holds the Guinness world record for eating Big Macs celebrated another major milestone Friday.
The retired prison guard first sunk his teeth into a Big Mac on May 17, 1972, and has been keeping track of his consumption ever since.

On Friday, the Big Mac maniac gave a half-hour presentation to the crowd, which gathered to watch him take that first bite of the 30,000th sandwich containing two all-beef patties, with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame-seed bun.

"At the time it was the only McDonald's in town and I had just gotten my driver's license", Gorske said just before he set another record for "Most Big Macs consumed". "At my last medical check-up I had low cholesterol and my blood pressure was flawless".
Gorske says he has enjoyed an average of two sandwiches almost every day since that magical day.
The grandfather claims that 90 percent of his diet consists of Big Macs.
The last day he didn't have a Big Mac was Thanksgiving Day in 2011, when McDonald's was closed and he thought he had a burger in the freezer. He also appeared in the movie Supersize Me. He says he is often asked about the effects of all those Big Macs on his health. "So we'll have to see how I'm doing then, you know?"
