The advisory for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabulua, Medina, Summit, Portage, and Wayne counties starts this afternoon and lasts through 8 p.m. Winds will quickly decrease through the evening, says the weather service. Winds will be from the southwest, shifting to the west. Saturday looks dry and sunny with highs in the mid 70s.
High Wind Warnings have been issued for that possibility from primarily the Tri-Cities, Thumb and southward.
In those areas, Environment Canada said, there was potential for storms strong enough to damage weak buildings, break branches off of trees and overturn vehicles.
As a cold front edges in later in the day, wind gusts up to 90 km/h are possible. Wind gusts of to 50 miles per hour are expected.
