The statement said Trump commended Buhari for the actions he had taken on corruption and other spheres of the nation's economy.

"Furthermore, President Buhari's admission at the Voice of America (VOA) that he was unable to reach any agreement with President Donald Trump on any matter of interest to Nigeria, during his U.S. visit and that he has no future development agenda to validate his 2019 re-election bid, confirm our position that the Buhari administration has nothing to offer Nigerians", PDP added.

Buhari said on his return to Nigeria from London previous year that he "had never been so sick" and had undergone blood transfusions. "So, the president is using a small plane and there is a limit to the distance the small plane can cover", he told AFP. "We have no other country than Nigeria, and what we make of it is what we get".

According to him, friends and followers of African politics in the Scandinavia were also impressed with the way the president answered questions at the White House during a press conference.

The Presidency has yet to react officially to Obasanjo at the time of filing this report.

Malam Garba Shehu, who also commented on the matter, said the president's aircraft had a technical stopover in London.

The statement said Buhari also conveyed the country's appreciation for the USA support for the humanitarian situation in the Northeast, with a contribution of 500 million US Dollars in cash and in-kind contributions, the highest by anyone, through the United Nations and other inter-governmental organizations.
