In his freewheeling interview Wednesday night with Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity, Giuliani said the country would "turn" on Mueller if he went after the president's eldest daughter, who is also a White House adviser, as part of his investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.
Cobb, who joined the legal team in July, said he plans to leave at the end of the month.
But the White House dropped another bombshell Wednesday with the announcement of an "early retirement" of White House attorney Ty Cobb.
Sources further pointed out that Mueller has raised the possibility of a presidential subpoena in at least one meeting.
McCarthy said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein established Mueller as special counsel "in a panic" after the Trump administration "completely botched" the firing of FBI Director James Comey by offering conflicting reasons for his termination.
Flood, a partner at Williams & Connolly who appears willing to take a more adversarial approach to the special counsel than Cobb, was recruited, in large part, by White House Counsel Donald McGahn, according to two people familiar with the process. And she is very loyal to Donald Trump, but I think the president would say this: "she would stand up to him when she had to", Giuliani said.

"The book is not closed on collusion because of the question on Paul Manafort", Napolitano said, referring to one of Mueller's questions for Trump that was leaked this week.
"There was no Collusion (it is a Hoax) and there is no Obstruction of Justice (that is a setup & trap)", Trump tweeted.
If Mr. Trump were to answer "no" and Mr. Gates told the grand jury that Mr. Trump did know of this, Mr. Mueller could claim Mr. Trump lied and ask the same grand jury to indict Mr. Trump for that. Trump has repeatedly called the investigation a "witch hunt" and said there was no collusion.
"We're not having adult supervision in the Justice Department", said McCarthy, who asserts that proper oversight would not allow the subpoena of lesser figures without clear evidence of a crime.
But some lawmakers who sit on those committees remain unsatisfied, particularly members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus.
"But, if in the end, they block him every step of the way, then there's no question in my mind that he will seek a subpoena", he said. But Cobb's role is to represent the office of the presidency, not Trump personally, and he hasn't been directly involved in discussions with Mueller about an interview.
Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller first leaked "40 Questions" he meant to ask President Trump to the media, and he then put out the rumor that he may subpoena Trump, if he doesn't agree voluntarily to the trap.
