Each season examines a decade of the Queen and the royal family's lives, with the first two covering Elizabeth and Prince Philip's first two decades as a couple.

(Aside from the fact that the its producers recently handed over £200,000 in back-pay to Foy.) On Thursday, the rumors that Helena Bonham Carter will star in the show's upcoming season 3 were finally confirmed-along with the news that she'll also star in the show's season 4, which'll see the Queen reach age 60. Prince Philip, meanwhile, will now be played by Tobias Menzies, who earned a Golden Globe nom for Outlander.

Speaking about the role, which she will take from Vanessa Kirby, the actress said: "I'm not sure which I'm more terrified about - doing justice to the real Princess Margaret or following in the shoes of Vanessa Kirby. The only thing I can guarantee is that I'll be shorter (than Vanessa)".

Bonham Carter, who was previously rumoured for Netflix's show, was officially announced for the role alongside Jason Watkins, who will play Harold Wilson. In it, Margaret married Antony Armstrong-Jones, the Earl of Snowdon (Matthew Goode) and the season ended with her pregnant with one of their children. "And so thrilled to be working once again with Peter Morgan", Watkins said.

We don't have a release date set for The Crown season 3, but we know it won't be until 2019.

Jason Watkins added "I am delighted to become part of this exceptional show". He's already expressed excitement to work with Colman and the rest of the team, which Carter seems to have been feeling, too.
