Exactly one week after her husband was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault, Bill Cosby's wife released a strongly worded statement charging that the key witness in the trial gave false testimony and the media violated the Constitution in its coverage of the story.
"This is a homogeneous group of exploitive and corrupt people, whose primary goal is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby's life", Camille Cosby, 74, added. "The overall media, with their frenzied, relentless demonization of him and unquestioning acceptance of accusers' allegations without any attendant proof, have superseded the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, which guarantee due process and equal protection, and thereby eliminated the possibility of a fair trial and unbiased jury".
Bill Cosby's wife says the 80-year-old comedian was the victim of "lynch mobs", and that her husband's conviction on sexual assault charges was the result of a "frenzy" advanced by the media and the untrustworthy account of main accuser Andrea Constand. "This is mob justice, not real justice".
She compared his treatment to that of Emmett Till, a black teenager who was kidnapped and murdered after witnesses said he whistled at a white woman in a MS grocery store in 1955. That's longer than most of us have been on the planet, which means she knows Bill better than most. We, the majority of the people, must make America what it has declared itself to be.... a democracy...not to be destroyed by vicious, lying, self-absorbed paradigms of evilness.
Camille Cosby's statement comes as her husband is on house arrest, awaiting sentencing.
The wife of USA comic Bill Cosby has called for a criminal investigation into the Philadelphia prosecutor behind her husband's sexual assault conviction, saying the case was "mob justice, not real justice". Twelve honourable jurors - peers of Cosby - have spoken. "There is nothing more that needs to be said", Troiani told USA TODAY. "History disproves that", she said before comparing Bill Cosby's trial to Emmett Till, the 14-year-old boy who was lynched in 1955 after a white woman falsely accused him of flirting.

Instead of coming to terms that her husband was just convicted of assaulting and drugging a woman and might face 30 years in prison, she now wants the attention turned on Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele, who she believes should be criminally investigated.
Camille Cosby was rarely seen or heard from during her husband's two sexual assault trials.
Over fifty women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct or assault in alleged instances occurring since the late 1960s.
Upon his conviction last week, Bill Cosby launched into an expletive-laced tirade at the district attorney.
When it was the prosecution's turn to argue, she left the courtroom, and Ms Constand entered.
Part of Cosby's defense in both of his criminal trials was that the encounter between him and his primary accuser Constand was consensual.
