WWE star Kane wins republican primary to be Knox County Mayor

WWE veteran "Kane" Glenn Jacobs has won the Knox County Mayor Republican primary by 17 votes.

Jacob alias Kane ran against Knox county commissioners Brad Anders and Bob Thomas.

While the gap is reported at 17 votes between Jacobs and his closest rival, officials in Knox County have said that Jacobs will not be "officially" reported as the victor until ballots are rechecked next week.

Kane received 14,633 votes to Anders' 14,616.

Ventura was mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, from 1991 to 1995 and became governor of Minnesota in 1999. This landmark victory has more than five times as many Republicans voting than Democrats in Knox County.

On the Democratic side, Linda Haney has a comfortable lead over Rhonda "Mousie" Gallman, 4,250-1,912.
