The design has been met with lots of criticism from fans and this had prompted OnePlus' CEO Pete Lau to make some clarifications on why the company had to settle for a notch design despite the disapproval of such by the majority of its fans. The official's announcement was made on the firm's product forums along with an image that can be seen above and appears to be hinting at a purple OnePlus 6 model.

In an in-depth post on the design of the upcoming OnePlus 6, CEO Pete Lau talked about overall design philosophy for the upcoming handset.

OnePlus' design language hasn't changed much through the years.

"In addition to retaining the horizon design, we've also tried to incorporate glass materials on OnePlus 6". OnePlus admits that it's not the first company to use a glass design with a smartphone, but they are confident they have provided future owners "with our interpretation of a familiar material".

In the statement, however, OnePlus did not confirm whether a glass back also means the presence of wireless charging. Instead, Lau highlighted less tangible, more subjective benefits-like that "glass communicates a transparent, bright, and pure feeling".

We found it very hard to break them down as obviously their negative tactic of dropping ten players in their own half. His strike was the third goal he has scored since joining the club in January.

According to Pete, the design team had tested over 70 prototypes before settling down with the ideal one.

But with the use of glass, the first thing that comes to our mind is the durability of it. Lau answered it by revealing that OnePlus 6's glass back contains five printed layers of Nanotech Coating for strength. OnePlus has also confirmed that 6 will be water resistant.

The OnePlus 6, so far, seems like a sizeable upgrade over the OnePlus 5/5T. We of course just want to know if Australia will finally be elevated to the status of being able to buy the phone officially. Aside from the latest commercial processor and a sizeable amount of RAM, it is uncertain as to how the company plans to stand out from the crowd, especially in light of the unique 120Hz display on the Razer Phone.
