Three Soldiers Killed In Army-Boko Haram Clash

Four persons have been reportedly killed Sunday morning when suicide bombers attacked a mosque in Borneo State.

Bama, located about 67 km southeast of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno, has witnessed many attacks by Boko Haram, a Jihadist militant organization based in northeastern Nigeria.

It was gathered that two male suicide bombers attacked worshippers, mostly made up of internally displaced persons who recently returned to the community during early morning congregational prayers.

Numerous displaced persons returned to the town three weeks ago after authorities assured them of security.

Sources however disputed the number of casualties, insisting that so many people were killed and injured in the attacks. He added that the Nigerian Army will provide security to the locals in their farming areas and also assist them in their farming projects. Emergency teams in Bama told Daily Trust on phone.

Gulumba disclosed that two teenage suicide bombers, a male and female, infiltrated a mosque at Bama-Dina quarters and detonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) strapped to their bodies.

"The Borno State Police Command had deployed men of the PMF and EOD personnel to render the area safe and return to normalcy".

The Cable reports that Ali Abacha who is an official of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), confirmed the incident. Eight other persons were injured and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

This as even as the military top heriachy said three regular soldiers, two civilian JTF and three Boko Haram members died in a shootout between troops and Boko Haram members in Borno.
