Philly rapper Meek Mill still in jail, but will get new trial

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner asked Judge Genece Brinkley to vacate Meek Mill's 2007 gun and drug conviction on Monday morning, potentially leading to a new trial. Judge Brinkley also denied any members of Mill's legal team a chance for Mill to be released on bail.

Mill is now serving a two- to four-year prison sentence for violating his parole stemming from a gun and drugs charge back in 2008.

The Meek Mill incarceration scandal will continue for the time being. Another hearing was advised by her June.

Spokesman Ben Waxman explained that the prosecutor's office made a decision to the granting of a new trial "because of the questions regarding credibility of this arresting officer" The officer is one of the police officers that the prosecutor's office has been sought to keep the stand off in many cases across the town due of credibility concerns.

Meek Mill's lawyer has said that they will appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
