Even before the victims of Kathua and Unnao rape cases could get justice another horrific incident was reported where a woman committed suicide after being continuously harassed by two men residing near her house.

Mumbai: Thane's Wagle Estate police on Saturday arrested a man and his mother after his wife was admitted to hospital on Friday night with 80 per cent burns.

Police said that the village is located in a hilly, naxal-affected area.

Detective superintendent Adam Hibbert, of the Sussex and Surrey major crime team, said: "At the present time we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation and our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the deaths. I have been undergoing through severe pain", cried the expectant mother.

According to police reports, the 35-year-old woman was on her way to the community health centre when four persons dragged her to a secluded spot and gangraped her. The following incident has once again highlighted the non-serious nature of the Uttar Pradesh police. SHO Dhirendra Kumar Singh told TOI, "Some passersby found a woman lying unconscious with a toddler crying by her side".
