"The legal limit for driving in California is 0.08". Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that has a sedative effect.

Data recovered from the vehicle's software has led investigators to believe that the driver deliberately sped the SUV off the cliff in Mendocino County, located more than 160 miles north of San Francisco.

Authorities in the United States have reportedly confirmed that the woman's body found from the Eel River was that of Keralite Soumya Thottapilly, who along with her husband and two children went missing earlier this month.

A vehicle owned by the couple-Sarah and Jennifer Hart, both 38 - was found at the bottom of a cliff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean in California's Mendocino County on March 26.

Investigators have not come up with a motive but say it appears the incident was intentional, The FBI is deploying their Behavioral Analysis Unit to assist and try to understand what happened.

There were no skid marks at the scene, Carpenter said. Devonte and his sister's body are missing and a third body was discovered but wasn't identified.

Argyropoulos says the family's story has spurred her to start a petition calling for a national child abuse registry that would alert states of prior reports of abuse. The neighbors said the children complained to them about being mistreated by their parents and asked for food, saying their parents withheld meals as punishment.

Sarah Hart pleaded guilty to charges of domestic assault in 2011, after police in Minnesota said she hit one of her daughters.

One of the neighbors, Tom DeKalb, said he called child protective services.

In the latest case, the Thottapilly family had taken a road trip from their home in Santa Clarita, Calif., to OR for spring break. These items were of a personal nature and will not be described further at this time, but it does confirm the fact the vehicle that was seen going into the river was that of the Thottapilly family.

They were last heard from the day before authorities received reports of a maroon Honda Pilot - the same color and make of the Thottapillys' SUV - submerging into the swollen river along US Highway 101 north of Leggett, according to local media reports.
