Rahm joins the likes of Spanish greats Seve Ballesteros, Sergio Garcia, Alvaro Quiros and Miguel Angel Jimenez as victor of the Spanish Open.

The world number four began the day behind overnight leader Paul Dunne but a birdie-birdie start from the Spaniard saw him tied for the lead after two holes.

Jon Rahm was won his maiden European Tour event, with a three shot victory over Ireland's Paul Dunne.

After Rahm had stamped his mark on proceedings with birdies at the first, second and seventh holes in the final round, the tournament was decided on the short 17th. But Elvira found the water on 17 while Rahm was in the midst of making a routine birdie on 18, and that was all the difference.

He was hunting a first national title as a professional to add to his two previous European Tour wins in Dublin and Dubai past year.

"When I chose your decision in the future direct from Augusta rsquo & it wouldn;t be to show up and wander around, " I wished to get that particular tournament", Rahm told reporters.

SHO Dhirendra Kumar Singh told TOI, "Some passersby found a woman lying unconscious with a toddler crying by her side". The following incident has once again highlighted the non-serious nature of the Uttar Pradesh police.

Rahm started to the leaderboard supporting Dunne, who had put also one supporting Elvira, and also the tempo from the initial few rounds.

Elvira pulled his tee shot in to the water on the par-three and missed a putt from inside two feet to rack up a double-bogey five, as Rahm posted a two-putt birdie at the last to set the clubhouse target at 20 under.

Further back, George Coetzee enjoyed an impressive final round as he ended the day on nine under, seeing him claim fourth place ahead of four others tied for fifth.

"It's been wonderful. It's truly been the hardest Sunday I've ever had in any tournament that I've won because the crowd wanted it so much and I wanted it so much".

Dunne holes out on 18 to finish outright second. You can tell how excited everybody is, I felt that tension, I felt that stress, I felt everything magnified.

"Being able to win this as a pro for the Spanish people feels great, it's hard to describe".
