Keenum is poised to join the Denver Broncos, who have struggled to settle on a starting quarterback since the retirement of Peyton Manning in 2016.

The Broncos will have plenty free-agent options for the No. 3 wide receiver role, and the cash saved by signing Keenum over Cousins will play a part in retaining many players from past year, including Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryius Thomas, Derek Wolfe and more - a positive domino effect that could greatly benefit the Broncos. Keenum had a career-year, performing like one of the league's best quarterbacks with better than a 3:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 98.3 passer rating.

Cousins' contract has an average value of $28 million per season, which also makes him the highest-paid in National Football League history on an annual basis. They went 5-8 with him in the lineup - and failed to win a game after his injury. He is considered the second-best QB available in free agency. He's played the complete schedule twice, missed the entire 2014 season and was limited to two games with the Vikings in 2017.

Cousins will visit with the Vikings Wednesday according to his agent Mike McCartney. With a new offensive coordinator in John DeFillipo, the quarterbacks coach for Super Bowl champion Philadelphia, the Vikings can reset their scheme to the preferences and strengths of Cousins. In doing so, Cousins doesn't just take the mantle of the league's highest-paid player from San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after about a month - he becomes the first player in NFL history to negotiate a fully-guaranteed contract.

Search for pilot after Navy jet crashes off Key West
ABC News reported that a spokesperson said one pilot ejected but it was "unclear whether the pilot was over land or water". A US Navy F-18 Hornet crashed in the water on the Naval Air Station Key West property late Wednesday afternoon.

As the Vikings enter the official start of free agency today, they don't have any high profile free agents on the market.

Nelson had 550 receptions and 69 touchdown catches in 10 seasons in Green Bay. This was once Teddy Bridgewater's Vikings team before he suffered a devastating knee injury two seasons ago.

CHIEFS: Kansas City will add wide receiver Sammy Watkins and middle linebacker Anthony Hitchens, filling two glaring needs. As the Redskins' signal caller, the former Pro-Bowler set single-season franchise records for passing yards multiple times. And Sam Bradford agreed to a one-year deal with the Cardinals worth $20 million, Rapoport tweeted, with an option year at $20 million. This isn't a scenario (as Cousins would've been) where the new guy is the locked-in starter. Turcke will lead the marketing, communications, human resources, worldwide and events and technology departments. Minnesota preferred Cousins over Keenum, who filled in ably previous year for an injured Bradford after Week 1 and held onto the starting role. New England picked Wilson in the second round in 2012 and the former IL star played in 54 games, starting four, over four years with them.
