Song 'hurts Muslim sentiments', internet sensation Priya Varrier in trouble

POLICE in Hyderabad on Wednesday registered a case for hurting religious sentiments of Muslims against the director of a Malayalam movie, whose song featuring actress Priya Prakash Varrier has gone viral. The complaint was filed with signatures of at least 57 people with their telephone numbers, and addresses provided to the police. In the complaint filed, the makers of the song have also been listed for hurting the Muslim sentiments.

Oru Adaar Love will come out in theatres on Eid at the end of June.

The 18 year old internet sensation, Priya Prakash Varrier has become crazily viral.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Falaknuma) Syed Faiyaz, however, said that no FIR has been registered into the matter yet. "Love it!" He was among the several others who noted the video for its old world charm of romancing with the eyes.

What was going to be just another teaser, went on to become the most talked about promo, thanks to Priya Prakash.

The film, releasing next month, is written and directed by Omar Lulu, and produced by Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy under the banner of Ousepachan Movie House.

Adnan Qamar, a Hyderabad man in a video message on Facebook said, "It is sad that the filmmaker himself is a Muslim and nearly the entire cast is Muslim but still such objectionable picturistaion has been shown in the film".
