Liverpool back in the big

Sadio Mane scored a hat-trick as Liverpool thrashed Porto 5-0 to put themselves in complete control of their Champions League last-16 tie after the first leg in Portugal.

Mane opened the scoring after 25 minutes with the help of some questionable goalkeeping from Jose Sa, the Porto number one diving over his low shot after a driving run from Georginio Wijnaldum. Klopp believes the Senegal global forward is now back to his best following a recent spell of indifferent form.

"I don't know if Porto are going to be afraid but we are going to make their life hard and make them suffer", said Firmino, who has 20 goals for the season in all competitions.

"This is a very important victory, these Champions League games are nights you always want to remember and we showed exactly how you need to play", Real captain Sergio Ramos told reporters. "I'm happy about it".

JURGEN KLOPP claimed it was the "perfect" performance after his rampaging Reds rewrote history.

"I do doubt though that their team will be granted as much space as they were given tonight by Porto who were hugely disappointing". They had their moments and we scored fantastic goals in the right moment.

Uber Losses Down in Fourth Quarter, but Still Huge
Uber's losses widened a year ago , despite signs that it was pulling back from the brink in the final three months. The San Francisco-based group's gross bookings also climbed 14 percent to $11.1 billion in the quarter.

Porto looked the more likely to score in the opening quarter of the contest and came closest to doing so when attacking midfielder Otavio sent a deflected shot on to the roof of the net. "The team defended from the front".

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are a better attacking unit than Liverpool's Luis Suarez-inspired class of 2014, says Steven Gerrard. "So I think the most important thing is to have a good result for the next game". He took 36 games to ace the feat, second to only the legendary George Allan who did it in fewer games. That's long ago then, because sorry, I don't know.

"That makes it even more exciting so congratulations Mo, but hopefully it won't stop". You have to cause them problems, problems and problems.

Asked if Aboubakar would play in Wednesday's match, Conceicao replied: "It's unlikely".

Ronaldo added a fortunate second before Marcelo struck a third just three minutes later, as the holders secured a valuable first-leg lead ahead of the visit to the French capital on March 6.
