This device is basically a smaller version of Honor 9, which never made its way to India.

The Honor 9 Lite features a 5.65 inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Honor 9 Lite was first launched in China in late December, and is in fact the second major launch by the Huawei brand in the country this year, following the launch of the Honor View 10 earlier this month. The microSD card slot is built on one of the SIM trays, which means users can use the two SIM slot or one SIM slot and microSD slot at a time.

The device is priced at Rs. 10999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB and 64GB storage variant. The phone is powered by a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core processor with 16nm technology. Featuring four cameras, the Honor 9 Lite also comes with a premium looking all-glass design and takes on popular budget segment offerings from the likes of Xiaomi and Motorola. With a 3,000 mAh battery, the Honor 9 Lite promises a talk time of 20 hours on 3G and a standby time of 24 days.

Notably however, the Flipkart listing indicates that the Honor 9 Lite's 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant will be not be launched in India. It weighs just 149g, is 151mm tall and 71.9mm wide and has a 5.6-inch display.

It's available in a couple of color options including Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey, and Midnight Black. The company's latest EMUI 8.0 skin, based on Android 8.0 Oreo will be powering this device. The rear camera setup is coupled with PDAF and LED flash module.

Apart from being 4G VoLTE compatible, the phone has other standard features such as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor to lock/unlock the phone, accelerometer, proximity, compass, Bluetooth 4.2, Global Positioning System and a micro USB 2.0.

■The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back and can be used as a shortcut button to access the notification panel, browse through photos in the gallery app, and as the camera shutter button.
