After lawmakers raised the issue of protections for immigrants from African nations, Haiti and El Salvador, the president reportedly demanded to know why the U.S. should accept immigrants from "shithole countries", rather than - for instance - wealthy and overwhelmingly white Norway.
On Thursday, Trump was in a private meeting with lawmakers to discuss immigration when those who attended said he questioned why the us would accept more people from Haiti and "shithole countries" in Africa rather than places like Norway.
