However, the Twitter user notes that even if the game is being remastered for PS4, don't expect details to be revealed soon.

Dark Souls: Remastered was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct.

To be fair, the list of features was the usual bullet points for PS4 Pro/Xbox One X versions of games, so it's entirely possible that it was included without thought.

From Software's involvement in the Switch's library has been hinted at since the early days of the Switch's announcement. Not familiar with Dark Souls, let me help you. The series came to an end past year. Presumably the game will also be coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but Bandai Namco has yet to confirm that at the time of this article.

We understand that this news is a lot to take in because fans of the franchise (like me), have been asking for remaster/remake of the first Dark Souls and Demon Souls for quite some time, even though the PC community has enough graphical mods to make Dark Souls 1 look wonderful, console gamers want to relive the glorious world of Lordran in update textures and higher resolution/textures. While the Switch version could conceivably address that level of difficulty by toning it down, somehow we suspect that Dark Souls Remastered will be just as hard to master as the original.

Mentioned in Bandai Namco's press release, Dark Souls Remastered will include nine new online covenants to find that will motivate online interaction between players.

According to Dark Souls Remastered's store page, all Steam owners of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die will get a 50% discount.

The game will release for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One on May 25 this year.
