A day before, the board defended the class 10 and 12 board exam 2018 date sheets after an outcry from students about the unfair scheduling of the exams.
In response, the Board clarifies that tight schedule has been decided so that the students get enough time to prepare for entrance examination like JEE Main, KCET, KEAM, MU OET, etc. The frustration in students is evident in the online petition started by Prakhar Bhasin, which says "The board examination date sheet 2018 is out and it is very, very inconsiderate".
In the date sheet, History - scheduled for 20 March - is immediately followed by Mathematics - scheduled for 21 March. Parent, students, and even a section of teachers felt that the exam timeline was too packed and gives no time to students for revision or rest. "I am seriously got nervous after getting the dates and really anxious that it may affect my performance", said, a class-XII student of humanities stream. The board also said that more gaps between the papers are not possible.
Similarly, there is only one day gap between Physics and English exam.

"There are around 200 subjects out of which students can have any combination". Also, the Board has made date sheet after not just considering one factor but after focusing on number of things.
Students also pointed out that Mathematics and Computer Science exams are scheduled on March 21 and March 23 respectively, causing difficulty in preparation.
Moreover, no gap has been provided between the Physical Education exam and Sociology, scheduled on April 9 and 10, respectively. The students appearing for MPBSE Board Examination should revise the important topics of their textbooks prescribed by the MPBSE Education Board.
