Delhi Police has arrested a 22-year-old NRI employed with Google for molesting a 52-year-old USA national at Taj Palace Hotel. The accused identified as Anmol Singh Kharbanda met and struck a conversation with the 52-year-old woman at the hotel bar around 10 PM on January 8.

After the incident, the woman checked out of the hotel and shifted to one in Gurgaon. She said she met the man near the hotel's pool area, and he invited her to his room for a drink. "She alleged that he tried to grab her and molested her, besides offering some drinks laced with sedatives". "She pushed him away and ran out of the room", said Singh. The woman also recorded her statement before a magistrate. He has been sent to judicial custody.
"When he returned to the hotel room on January 9 night, the hotel security informed the police and he was arrested", the ACP added further. A case of molestation was registered, after which Kharbanda was arrested. The woman, too, was in the country for work, police said. Police officers say that the accused was in Delhi on business and was staying in a room on the eight floor of the hotel. "We are aware of this incident. Safety and security of our guests and associates is paramount", said the spokesperson of the Taj Diplomatic Enclave hotel. "She later revisited Delhi to report the matter", said an officer.
