MLB.com's Mark Feinsand says the deal also includes awards bonuses.

Several teams were reportedly trying to trade for Machado during the Winter Meetings, though Arizona wasn't named among the teams trying to make a deal.

The Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies have also shown interest in Machado. So that salary should not be a hindrance if the Orioles do trade Machado this year. If they keep him for the season, they could receive a compensatory pick after he turns down a qualifying offer.

Both Machado and Britton have been the subject of trade rumors this offseason, with talks surrounding the latter quieting down following his injury. Knowing their window of dethroning the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West - and entire NL for that matter - is a small one, Machado could be the crucial part in accomplishing their ultimate postseason goals.

Brach, 31, had a 3.18 ERA while picking up in 18 saves in place of Britton last season. Machado had been named an All-Star in three of the four years prior but was passed over in 2017.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, though, remain engaged with the Orioles on Machado, the most persistent of the teams interested, according to major league sources.

The Orioles agreed to a $16 million contract with third baseman Manny Machado and a $12 million deal with injured closer Zach Britton, avoiding arbitration with both stars. He's expected to land a much more lucrative deal than the record-setting one Giancarlo Stanton signed a few years ago. He hit.259 with 33 home runs and 95 RBIs for the Orioles in 2017. He bounced back from a slow start to hit.290 with a.326 on-base percentage and a.500 slugging percentage after the All-Star Game. He finished ninth in the AL MVP voting in 2013 as a 21-year-old.
