SteelSeries Rival 600 Gaming Mouse Unveiled

The Rival 600 gaming mouse not only has a TrueMove 3 sensor - as seen on the firm's previous mice, boasting true one-to-one tracking and a maximum sensitivity of 12,000 counts-per-inch (CPI) - but it has a second optical sensor for tracking lift-off distance and further reducing any potential cursor jitter. SteelSeries directly calls out its competition when talking about this feature and compares the Rival 600 against Razer's Deathadder Elite, Logitech's G403, and Zowie's FK1.

That means no more annoying on-screen jitters as you reposition your mouse, which will especially come in handy while playing a first-person shooter or other game that demands accuracy and requires very precise mouse movements.

At $80, the Rival 600 occupies a crowded corner of the gaming mice market, going head-to-head with other excellent mice, including SteelSeries' own Rival 700. Lock in the exact weight you want with light-to-heavy customization, with over 256 weight and balance configurations possible. The lift off distance is customisable - for when the mouse stops and starts tracking - avoiding unwanted extra movement when the mouse is picked up and put down again. The second sensor also features linear optical detection for true depth perception for the world's most precise lift-off detection down to 0.5mm.

Discovery Communications Target of Unusually Large Options Trading (DISCK)
Shares of Discovery Communications Inc. 2,602,100 shares of the company traded hands, compared to its average volume of 3,051,333. Fiduciary Trust Co. purchased a new stake in Discovery Communications in the second quarter valued at approximately $160,000.

Other features of the SteelSeries Rival 600 gaming mouse include a 350 IPS optical sensor providing 12,000 CPI together with silicon grips and a reinforced trigger system.

The Rival 600's sensor can sense when the user lifts the mouse off their mousepad, and will minimise unintentional cursor movement when the mouse is placed back down. These can increase the Rival 600's weight from the minimum 96 grams all the way to 128 grams. Wrong, particularly when it comes to gaming mice, and at CES 2018 SteelSeries is proving that point further with an interesting innovation in its latest model, which adds a secondary optical sensor.

The Rival 600 is the newest member of the Rival family. It also features pure silicone grips and a soft-touch finish. Its seven buttons and eight RGB LED lighting zones are fully programmable using the Steelseries Engine software, and the settings are saved on the mouse.
