Sango, a serial governorship aspirant, is the current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau State.
Speaking to Daily Trust on the incident, the state party Publicity Secretary, John Akans confirmed the ransom demand but stated that state party officials were yet to take any decision as national officers of the party were handling the matter.
PDP Deputy Chairman in Plateau Amos Gombi, who also confirmed the incident, said that Sango and his team were abducted on their way to Abuja.
Sango was abducted with his companions along Jere-Kagarko road in Kaduna state while travelling in a Lexus jeep which has now been stationed at the Jere police station.
He said, "The kidnappers have contacted the family of Damishi Sango and are demanding for N100 million".

Party stakeholders from his country home in Riyom such as former federal lawmaker, Simon Mwadkwon, and the state Commissioner for Finance, Mang, have called on the Federal Government to make Nigerian roads safer for travellers with the establishment of security checkpoints at intervals on major highways in the country. "The man has been kidnapped and efforts are on to secure his freedom", he said.
