Over 4 buildings have collapsed in the last 4 months in Mumbai, because the old foundations give in to the heavy rains during monsoon.
The incident occurred around 0900 hrs, when four storied building crashed in the Navi Vasti locality of the town.
A portion of a four storeyed buliding was reported to have collapsed in Thane's Bhiwandi on Friday morning.
The "Tahir Biznor" building, situated in Navi Basti area, was unauthorised, a district official said.

As per the reports, around 6-7 people were feared trapped inside the debris.
"Body of Ruksana Khan was pulled out from the debris and five others were rescued and admitted to the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital here", Nikam said.
A National Disaster Response Force team was likely to join the rescue operation, the official said, adding that the reason for the collapse was not known. Rescue operations are on.
