Curtis Samuel's rookie season with the Panthers is over after he suffered ligament damage to his ankle, as first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. He had only 10 catches for 70 yards before Monday night.

The Panthers announced the second-round pick will undergo season-ending ankle surgery and will be placed on injured reserve.

Samuel's was enjoying perhaps his best game as a pro prior to sustaining the injury.
