Unfortunately we lost our baby boy due to some complications, and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4am. At all. I really didn't even practice that week, I was just going through a lot.

"For a guy to go through that, to have those emotions, to go the whole night before not sleeping very much and then to come out there and have some very pivotal plays in that game and make a huge difference, it says a lot about the guy", Shanahan said.

Goodwin still took the field at Levi's Stadium, but it wasn't his decision to take part in the Week 10 contest. "I said, 'Baby, just go out there and do your thing, '" she recalled.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan praised Goodwin for playing against the Giants and contributing to the team's first victory of the season.

"And I know my wife and I will be better after this situation". However, God had other plans for us. "'I'll be okay.'" And he stunned both of them - and 49ers fans, most of whom knew nothing about the pregnancy or miscarriage - with his 83-yard touchdown. "Seeing him score the touchdown and watching him get emotional after the game". "I feel I was placed in this world to be a mother, and I want to be a mother".

After the game, Goodwin quickly exited the locker room to be by his family's side.

With the 49ers off this week for the bye, Goodwin and his wife have returned home to Texas to be around family as they attempt to move forward. For Goodwin, that choice to share something so personal was made in an effort to tell their story without others making assumptions or spreading false rumors.

Goodwin relayed a message of Faith and perseverance to anyone who has been touched by a similar tragedy.

"I just wanna thank those who've genuinely prayed for @morganakamomo & myself throughout this pregnancy".
