Kaduna Governor Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai tweeted the test results of the primary teachers last week. Architect Muhammad Namadi Sambo's Administration as Governor of Kaduna State gave this earring teachers four years to obtain NCE they failed, late Mr. Ibrahim Yakowa of blessed memory gave these teachers additional four years which was concluded by Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero to earn NCE yet they failed.

Speaking during a special retreat of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on the challenges of education, with the theme: "Education in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects", the President decried a situation where teachers were not different from their students.

President Muhammadu Buhari has described as "very serious, a situation where teachers could not pass the examination that they are supposed to teach the children".

"It underscores the urgent need for comprehensive national reform".

"It is a very tragic situation we are in and this gathering together to me is one of the important (things) in this administration", Mr. Buhari said.

El-Rufai had vowed that threats of industrial action by the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teac‎hers (NUT) would not deter his government.

According to the statement, " the gang-up against El-rufai is aimed at: graduating millions of illiterates every year from primary schools in Kaduna state, allowing semi-illiterates to teach our teaming brothers and sisters, our children, and our children's children. Those days, teachers behave to students like their children. If you didn't do well, they never spared the rod.

Director-General of the APC Governors Forum, Salihu Mohammed Lukman said the issue should not be politicised. We can disagree with the approach of the state government, but the way to go is not to politicize this matter.

But the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) faulted Buhari's endorsement of the teachers' sack. "Therefore, we call on the state to shelve this planned demonstration and heed security advice", he added.
