"Trunk or Treat" brings kids safe and fun Halloween event

From 6-8 p.m. children will go from trunk-to-trunk to collect treats from locals who will be passing out candy.

Besides plenty of candy, there will be free hot dogs and chips provided by The Dish Room and served by the city's police officers.

"Our Christian Women's Fellowship gets it together, but the whole congregation is involved", said Janice Christopher, a member of the fellowship.

Calvary Assembly will host its second annual event starting at 6:30 p.m at the Epicenter campus in Tanner. Inside the church, families can enjoy games, free apple cider and treats.

This year, event organizers expected more than 1,500 people to come through the event. Games and a cake walk will be from 4:30-5:15 p.m. A doggy costume contest is also planned.

At the same time, Salem Springs Baptist Church will host a community-wide Trunk-or-Treat at the church on Alabama 99 in Elkmont.

The St. Francois County Health Center WIC Office will be hosting a trunk or treat on their parking lot at 1025 West Main St.in Park Hills on Halloween.

Presented by the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, the event provides a safe environment for children to enjoy Halloween festivities, including trick or treating from decorated auto trunks.
