In his reaction, however, Fayose, who is also under probe by the EFCC, said on his official twitter handle that, "Someone accused of stealing billions of pension fund was returned to the FG civil service and you still think Buhari is fighting corruption?"
Maina was actually recalled on September 18, 20127 as a Deputy Director, Administration, by the Federal Civil Service Commission acting on the advice of the Ministry of Justice initiated by the Ministry of Interior.
Some Nigerians have reacted to the recent reinstatement of the former Chairman of Presidential Committee on Pension Reform Task force Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, into the federal civil service, saying the development is victory over corruption and age-long pervasion of the civil service rules and labour laws.
Following confirmation of Maina's reinstatement, reports have emanated that the EFCC had initiated a fresh manhunt for him after an emergency strategy meeting by its leadership held Sunday.
Maina was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for an alleged N2billion pensions biometric scam in November 2015, a 24-count bothering on procurement fraud and obtaining money under false pretense.
The Civil Service Commission reportedly dismissed him for "absconding from duty".
"It is understood that Maina's last posting was with the Ministry of Interior, and that is probably why he was re-posted back to the Ministry".
Patients told: Don't ask for antibiotics
The reality is that antibiotics are not always needed so you shouldn't expect to be prescribed them by your doctor or nurse. Antibiotics do not work on common conditions, such as colds and flu.
The Minister however denied responsibility for Maina's recall to the service.
"In a memo to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the President equally demanded a full report of the circumstances of Maina's recall and posting to the Ministry of Interior". If one is dismissed or indicted or suspended, which one was applied to Maina?
Maina was reported to have fled the country after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest in 2013.
The letter claimed that Maina's case was reviewed and that a decision was taken that he be reinstated and was consequently issued a letter of reinstatement dated Monday, October 2, by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation.
While Mr Oronsaye and the two other accused were in court and pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mr Maina was at large.
The Presidential aide said President Muhammadu Buhari has no concern with the employment, discipline and promotion of civil servants.
