The Google Assistant for the NVIDIA SHIELD TV is virtually identical to the one you can use on the Google Home and your smartphone, providing you with the ability to issue orders to your Internet of Things devices and interact with the platform in other ways like asking it questions or requesting weather and news reports. The search giant's assistant is integrated within streaming apps, too, so it'll be able to serve up content from Netflix, HBO, and others.
Google Assistant on the NVIDIA Shield will enable users to control media playback hands-free with just voice commands.
Not only will you be able to watch TV and movies but also dim the lights and more - all with just your voice, Google said.
Shield TV may now have a 4K rival from Apple in the form of the new Apple TV 4K, but for my money, it's the more flexible offering, and now it also acts a home theater connected Google Home, making it an even better value. Starting now, it's also available on Android TV - first on the Nvidia Shield TV console.
Toddler shoots two other toddlers at MI daycare

Google Assistant has now become a part of our smartphones, smart speaker, and headphones. Nvidia's Shield TV is the first device to get the digital assistant and it will later roll-out to Sony's Bravia TVs with Android TV.

"Play Game of Thrones"- your Assistant can play a wide variety of content, from movies and TV shows to YouTube clips and music. You can also ask your Assistant to "play some music" or listen to a specific song on YouTube Music, Google Play Music, Spotify or Pandora. Shield users are also getting a free three-month trial of YouTube Red. However, Shield TV is a step ahead from other TV models as it packs in the functionality of wake-up phrase in the game controller just like Google Home. Originally announced in January this year, Google Assistant has taken nine months to arrive on Android TV. Let us know in the comment section below!
