Paris has been officially announced as the host city of the #2024 Summer Olympics, an official statement from the International Olympic Committee said.
"We're grateful to Los Angeles 2028 for inspiring the BEST students at Gates Street Elementary and making the school campus a more attractive place", said Los Angeles' BEST President and chief executive Eric Gurna.
The International Olympic Committee unanimously selected Los Angeles as the host city for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games on Wednesday.
Los Angeles 2028 officials, who had agreed to step aside in the race for 2024 in exchange for a package of financial sweeteners, said the IOC's willingness to award two games at the same time had been a game-changer.
"Together we must do everything in our power to ensure that Paris hosts a magnificent games in 2024".
"We have an enormous amount of work to do to be able to organize and fully win, altogether, these 2024 Games", Macron added.

After the announcement, representatives from the two host cities, the IOC and President Bach signed official contracts for the Olympic Games, respectively. It means fans will see their favorite golfers compete again for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well as four years later in Paris.
Los Angeles 2028 organisers have joined Olympians and Paralympians for a volunteer service project to promote youth sports for the city's students.
Global sports and entertainment design practice Populous and Egis, the Paris-based, worldwide consultancy, engineering and operation group, were chosen in 2016 to collaborate on the Paris 2024 bid, which was confirmed this week.
