Missing, pregnant Md. teacher found dead, suspect arrested

Montgomery County police say Laura Wallen, the missing Howard County teacher, was killed by her boyfriend.

Police say s suspect has been arrested for her murder.

Wallen's father, Mark Wallen, passionately pleaded Monday for the public to help him find his daughter, offering a $25,000 reward for anyone who provided information that would lead to her safe return.

Laura Wallen, a 31-year-old who was four month pregnant, went missing September 4. A family member said they last her from her when she sent a troubling text message on Sept.4.

The SUV wasn't far from Wilde Lake High School, where Wallen teaches in the Social Studies department.

Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Montgomery County police tweeted, "We are sad to report that missing Olney woman Laura Wallen has been located deceased". They would only refer to this case as suspicious.

Circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death are still being investigated.

A special HOPE ceremony in support of Wallen was scheduled to be held Wednesday night at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center in Columbia.
