India welcomed the move - which participated at a summit in the Chinese city of Xiamen - as an important step forward in the fight against militant attacks.

No doubt, it is not allegedly Pakistan-based outfits that have been named in the communiqué issued by BRICS' summit but also groups like IS, Al-Qaeda and its affiliates, Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan but inclusion of Haqqani network, Lashkar-i-Taiba, Jaish-i-Mohammad, TTP and Hizbul Tahrir has given a lash in India's hand to beat Pakistan.

Afghanistan on August 22 welcomed US President Donald Trump's revised vision for the Afghan war, stating that it was the "result of intense deliberations" and took into account "both our countries' needs and considerations". Chinese leaders will meet Asif and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold talks with him, he said.

Asif's visit will be "another important event between the two sides which will further the cooperation consensus reached between the two leaders, deepen political cooperation centered on the China Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC) and promote coordination and communication on global and regional affairs", he said.

Countries attending a December conference aimed at stabilising Afghanistan made a similar statement, naming several Pakistan-based terror groups as a source of concern.

That also applies equally to Rohingyas who have settled in different parts of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir. Deportation has to be done legally. "We are not going to use force to throw out anybody".

Naturally, the BRICS declaration on terror will hold significant ramifications on ties between the two countries.

Pakistan on Tuesday rejected a statement by the five emerging-market BRICS powers that militant groups in Pakistan pose a regional security concern, with its defence minister saying no group operates freely inside Pakistan. The countries have supported efforts to keep the good momentum of political and security cooperation and played their part in maintaining world peace and stability, he said. "Pakistan will be very upset", Hu Shisheng, Director of the official China Institute of Contemporary International Relations told TOI. "Whatever we do will impact the world substantially. I feel little unusual", he said.

The four documents are: BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) Action Agenda on Economic and Trade Cooperation; BRICS Action Plan for Innovation Cooperation (2017-20); Strategic Framework of BRICS Customs Cooperation; and Memorandum of Understanding between the BRICS Business Council and the New Development Bank on Strategic Cooperation (NDB).

He said that BRICS, which represents nearly half of humanity, can achieve global transformation with a proactive approach, policies and action based on ten "Noble Commitments".

The ambassador insisted that terrorists present in Pakistan have roots in Afghanistan, and certain points raised in the new U.S. policy for the region are debatable. There were hints that other punitive actions were also being considered.
